New Members in the Enviro Club

Today we had new members join the Enviro Club. Skye, Raeha, Wayne and Brayden had their first session with the club today. We are looking forward to seeing them play a big part in the club for the next two years at Lakeview School.

Marilyn took us on a tour of the Lansdowne Nursery this afternoon. We are looking forward to getting back to the nursery to continue on with the learning we all did in 2009.

Planting Again

Last week we started again with some planting in the school garden. Hopefully the plants weren't left out in the sun without water for too long! We still have more to put in seedlings to get in, and are hoping to have this done before our next session with Marilyn.

Marilyn and Victoria join us again

Today Marilyn and Victoria joined us again for a session in the school garden. With a number of other things taking place at school on Tuesday afternoon, we were left with only Aidan and Ashley doing all of the hard work with weeding and watering.

This week we will be looking to recruit new members to the club, with some children from the Senior Middle Syndicate included so that experience and knowledge is built up over 3-4 years at Lakeview School.

Starting Over in 2010

Now that we have started back at school for the 2010 school year it is time to get up and running with the school garden again. Members of the Enviro Club from 2009, Ashleigh, Annie and Aidan, plus a new member, Hayley, spent the afternoon weeding the vegetable garden to prepare it for new planting.

We are looking forward to producing the results that were achieved last year. Many of our families benefited from the produce from last year's harvest.

The potatoes that we planted at the end of last year are looking good. These should be ready in a few weeks time.

Remember to check this blog on a regular basis to follow the progress of the Enviro Club. We are looking forward to bringing in other students from across the school to help out.
